Encircle LGBTQ Resource Center
Since its inception, we have been involved with Encircle, and its mission of supporting LGBTQ+ kids and their families. Traditionally we have told documentary stories about these kids, and helped tell their story. To do so, we imbed with these kids for a day or two and get to know them, and then tell their story.
We recently made their latest Holiday Film, telling a narrative story with roots in real life. We brought our documentary ethos to tell a story and make it feel as real as possible. Working with a small Utah nonprofit, we were extremely limited in budget, but we wanted to tell a story that felt real, and deep, and layered. So, we utilized a single location, shot everything in a 10 hour day, and begged, borrowed, and stole whatever and whomever we could in order to make something memorable and great!
Loveloud Foundation
Working with the Loveloud Foundation, we interviewed over 20 LGBTQ+ kids in Utah, and it played at the Loveloud Music Festival. This spot was shot in one day, in studio, in as intimate setting as possible (with as small a crew as possible) to ensure our talent felt safe sharing their stories.
Dick’s Sporting Goods
In order to keep this a real as possible, we limited our crew to two people total on this, and embedded ourselves with the talent for a week. We came away with a story that tells the powerful effects sports has on someone struggling with mental illness.
Coordown Foundation
In order to tell the story of the experience a Down Syndrome person has in education, we chose to use animation and voice over from one of the most amazing people we have ever met.
Dementia
To educate about the signs of early-onset dementia, we filmed this powerful and very personal story.
Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
We were honored to be given the chance to tell the stories of some of our bravest soldiers, and how they came back from war to battle with traumatic brain injuries.
Doctors of the World
For Doctors of the World, we secured footage of actual refugees to tell a powerful story about indifference.
